CONTEXT

HITMKR is a growing platform for musicians and producers to buy and sell music tracks.

A key business goal for HITMKR is to grow from an e-commerce site into a music collaboration platform where the musicians and producers’ originality is valued, rather than creating type-beats.

PROBLEM

The website does not fully assist musicians and producers with more content interaction.

Users are not provided with robust offering of tracks to discover upon arrival to the site nor search filters, the user flow for uploading beats is unclear for producers, and the checkout UI does not gain user trust.

Our Team’s Solution

After 3 rounds of usability testing with 5 producers, 5 musicians, and 2 general user test participants, our team was able to enhance the search functionality and create an efficient upload process for producers.

Enhanced Search Functionality

Users have options to browse contents on the homepage and search with tags. The website provides users with better control of narrowing down their search results.

Efficient Upload Process & Tagging System

Users can easily tag their music with only a few clicks, allowing for easy SEO. Information about licenses and producer voice tags is available for producers to make sure what they’re selling.

Secure Checkout Experience

Displaying a Stripe trust badge makes the payment page more trustworthy. Users can review the license & usage terms on the checkout page.
